Picture Challenge [PART I]

Don’t be alarmed. You are still viewing The Sophomore Slump. I’m just taking a break once again with my travel posts and weekly photo challenges. I had fun making and composing my DIY post, so I’m continuing my special reports.

Many of you participate in photo challenges, so I don’t see any problem for you to give each one or some of it a try.

1. Can you figure this out?

2. Don’t worry, most of it are easy.

3. Some of it are hard.

4. These are common phrases, expressions, idioms, saying, words of wisdom, etc.

5. Are you getting the hang of it? Go ahead and…

6. By the way, I drew these but I’m not an eight-year old kid.

7. Who in the world does this next one anyway?

8. Some additions are meant to confuse you.
9. This one requires a little logic.10. Did I get you interested in venturing a guess?

11. Apostrophe needed

12. Not everyone knows this, but it is one of my most favorite idiomatic expressions.

13. Now, scroll up and ponder back to the first one.

I’m no painter. So I’ll just introduce you to this real artist.

FEATURED BLOG

Carla Saunders sure is a very talented artist. My favorite post is when she allows her viewers to get deep into her feelings when she woke up in the wee hours of the morning that she started to express her emotions through painting. She tries out different approaches, styles, patterns, processes, methods (to include using a stick), all kinds of things. Head out to Carla’s Blog and you will get to know her world as she always tells her experiences and her travels through drawings. Also, do check out the magnum opus, in my opinion, from this SF-based blogger, just look for the title with California Country Music.

Last puzzle …

14. Everyone should know this one.

Hope you have fun as I did drawing and composing this.

Integrity system here. No cheating, no copying.

You can ask questions. Tell me what you are thinking. And maybe I can give you hints without giving away the farm.

    • Ow, Colline, you’re a great writer. Read that poem of yours. Please do try, noone seems to take a stab at it. Just provide the ones you know, and it’s fine.

  1. Being a visual artist, here’s what I have so far:

    4. Forgive and forget.

    7. Needle in a haystack.

    8. One – two – tree – four and high-five!

    9. Meet me in the middle.

    10. Hook line and sinker!

    12. The answer is blowing in the wind.

    14. Chatter-box!

How did I do? I’ll have to come back to try again for those I have yet to fugure out, and see Carla’s blog.

    • Weee! Finally! You are quite the master, Allan!
      4. Correct!
      7. Correct!
      8. Great job! :D
      9. :D You are more than a visual artist.
      10. I wouldn’t have never guessed somebody get it this quick. Thought I confused people with. You proved me wrong.
      12. Not quite what I’m looking for. It can be. Very very nice guess.
      13. Another great job, but not what I’m looking for.

Thank you Allan for initiating. Now, I hope they get the idea. Thanks a thousand! ;)

  2. 2. Filthy rich
    3. Tough nut to crack
    5. Strike the iron while it’s hot
    6. Six feet under
    13. Back to square one
    14. A picture is worth a thousand words
Any more hints for No. 1? :)

  3. I’m trying these without reading any comments first. So here goes:

    #1 Time for a vowel,
#2 Rich man’s trash is poor man’s treasure,
#3 A tough nut to crack, or a ton of weight hanging over me/lifted off of me
#4 From Luke 6:38 Bible verse,
#5 Put another iron in the fire,
    #6 Six feet under,
#7 Look for a needle in a haystack,
    #8 A high five,
#9 Meet me in the middle,
    #10 Hook, line, and sinker,
    #11 Wind under one’s wings,
    #12 Knocked speechless,
    #13 Square,
    #14 Picture worth 1000 words.

A great challenge, well done! I’m anxious to see the correct answers!

  4. Rommel! LOL What a hoot ! I just saw this and you had – have – me completely stumped and I’m looking at the answers!! If there was and there probably is an award for the cleverest blogger out there I would nominate you. Now I really relate to your comment about not having a clue when it comes to understanding my abstract painting. I answered your comment which was a good exercise for me. If I can figure it out I’ll reblog it on mine. You are the best ! Touche.

    • Woot! Woot! Thanks for the strong compliment. I really love your paintings. Love how you generate your travels and journal into painting. Which, actually far more clever tahn most of us who post directly, physically. You, you do it in abstract way. You have a humdinger of a blog.

    • Wow Carla! Just read your response to your abstract painting. I’m completely, utterly blown away from it. I could never have guessed it. I need to be of the same artistic mind first. That’d would take a lifetime. Your work, your art beddazle me. Highly impressive!

Don't be shy to say hi.
