Here I let Weekly Photo Challenges sit for a little as I give way to post prolonged drafts and ideas I had been harboring i.e. a poem post, a DIY post, a bests and worsts post, home residence post, etc. And now I collected enough overdue Weekly Photo Challenges into one super post.
I do suggest participating to Weekly Photo Challenges. It’s a great medium to boost readership and to get to know a good part of WP community. If not WPC, there are other challenges available as well like Jake’s Sunday Post, Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge, IT’s Weekly Images of Life, Frizztext’s A – Z Challenge, Aisa’s Travel Theme and Marianne’s CBBH Challenge. I think I’m done participating to Weekly Photo Challenge. I have so much in my plate, and that I’ve been missing a lot of it or being late for it. Also, for a long time I’ve only been doing an average of 2 posts a week. I don’t want Weekly Photo Challenge dictates the nature of my blog.
BIG: LACMA [Los Angeles, California]
FOREIGN: International Houses [Balboa Park in San Diego, California]
This collage doesn’t do justice to what the location offers. You have to get in to each houses to get the full experience.
Seen: From top left, counterclockwise – Norway, Ireland, Spain, Czech, Sweden China, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, Puerto Rico, Scotland and Philippines
Geometry: Walt Disney Concert Hall [Los Angeles, California]
RENEWAL: The Strip [Las Vegas, Nevada]
GREEN: Sespe Creek [Ojai in Ventura, California]
THANKFUL: My Community [The Sophomore Slump v. 2] *sticks tongue out*

Changing Season: Matilja Creek [Ojai in Ventura, California]
Thank You WordPress geniuses for improving their gallery feature.
EDITED: The new WP gallery is not that great afterall. Now, I’m forced to show the pictures one by one. I’m sure WP will do something about this.
Or I have to settle for a width-length instead of having my widgets to the right.

Weekly Photo Challenge?
FEATURED BLOG
Here’s to a very old post from an old-time blogging friend. I remember this photography excellency very well – Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual. Gerry has been an all-over-the-map blogger providing us outstanding posts and being highly visible to many blogging sites. As a matter of fact, he has two blogging sites- Gerry’s Space and Writing Hell. To take great note, he won from participating the National Novel Writing Month Challenge. A blogger, a novelist, a consistent challenge master, and a music composer! Gerry surely is a stand-out creative blogger.

Last Call…
REFLECTION: San Juan Capistrano [Los Angeles, California]
I’m only going to complete Weekly Photo Challenge this year.

Aweeee….but you do the challenges so WELL *cries*. Especially, your super posts…..I may have to steal the idea one day.
And I must say, you are like the king of blog social circles. Love how you always bring us together. Cheers to community!
Ahihihi … I think it’s The Island Traveler who is the king of blog social circles. I can be his right hand man.
Hmmmm …. maybe I’ll just do a super post as well. Thank you back for the idea. Hehe.
So you are the Prince then?
I can settle for a Prince. Prince has lesser and cooler clothing. And he gets to be charming.
Prince Charming Rommel it is. You have been dubbed. I think you got the charming part down already. Ha ha ha.
Ow, how we are having too much fun.
I really love the pics from Ventura – beautiful!
Lisa

Many Thanks! Ventura is my current residency. 1 Ventura – others 0
i like the bike trail in the mountains one
Ahhhh, but of course. Eeek! I still need to buy me a bike!!!
I see you’ve perfected your flower photography as well as everything else! The gallery is great and Ventura of course looks wonderful
I’m less keen on Vegas – don’t think it would be my kind of place, but most of all I love your concert hall photos, you’ve captured teh shpae and hues superbly. Well done Rommel!
Does it mean that you’ll ONLY do the WPC next year and not the other challenges?
I think everyone always a decent flower shot. Flowers are easy practice.
I never really did any of the other challenges routinely. Gilly, next year, I won’t be doing any of the challenges regurlarly. I’ll use them from time to time but that’s about it.
Just to be clear though. I do highly recommend bloggers to participate to the challenges. Just not for me anymore.
I like big and foreign…so quaint!
thank you very much for your lovely praise, and fabulous support. Always welcome my blogging friend..thanks again..:)
It was only a matter of time to feature. Sorry it took awhile. And congrats again for your NaNoWriMo.
Great collection! I’ll have to learn how to do the gallery thing.
I don’t think it fits with your theme. Don’t learn it. We’re all used to your blog the way it is.
AWESOME!!! The King did it again! The reflection is another award winning shot!
Wahhhhhhh! Another King mention! Eeeek! I dont want to be the king. The king stumbles and falls. The Island Traveler is who I consider The King.
Thanks for always supporting my Last Call.
I was thinking about you for that one. I knew you always have something for my Last Calls.
What is this King thing? I doubt Island T wants to be called King… like you, he’s mellow and down to earth.

Now, if only someone would call me Queen… just kidding!
Eliz
You are right. IT is way such a down to earth person. Maybe, we can bestow it to Jake Printer. Whoa! Are WP King candidates mostly fiipinos? Discrimination alert! hehehehe… let’s not go there.
Holy S%^&&^$*!!!! I ain’t going there!

I don’t think Jake wants the title either… Oy vey!
I really like the way you displayed your photos. I haven’t yet figured out the finer points of the new media uploads…but you’ve inspired me to take some time with it! The photos do tell a story! In this case, a story of some very interesting travels, Rommel. I really enjoy seeing where you’ve been and what you enjoy doing. You have a great eye for detail, too. Good job!
I know you used WP gallery before. I use an external collage Apps called PicStitch. My praise to the geniuses of WP. But, I just found a glitch to their new update.
Anywho, Thanks for the compliments. Your capture of Walt Disney Concert Hall is way better than I have!!!
Hi Rommel! These photos are terrific and far ranging and I hope you’ll continue to share your photos. What changed with WP’s gallery? I haven’t used it in a while…. Also, I’m curious about the international houses in the park and how people respond to them. I understand your position but I hope you’ll still join in the photo challenge when you have a moment.

TY for your good cheer!
Eliz
Okay, now that you said Queen Eliz, I guess I’ll do a Monthly Weekly Photo Challenge (say whuuut!?).
The WP gallery still has a major glitch.
What’s new is that you can separate the number of pictures now instead of having all in just one giant collage-gallery…. I think.
Good idea on the monthly and kindly drop the queen.
WP gallery: You can separate them now? OK, cool. That is why I stopped using it because it didn’t have that feature… Good to know. TY!
The comment above is what happens when 5000 thoughts are running through our heads and we don’t self – edit. I meant to say: As per your plan to skip the photo challenge in 2013, I understand your position, but I hope you’ll still join in occasionally to do the photo challenge when you have a moment.

TY for your good cheer!
Eliz
As ever Rommel a great post!
You are right about the weekly challenges and so forth they have been super to join in with for me as a new blogger this year .
It’s your writing about your experiences and outlook on life along with your photos, of course which makes your a blog a place to keep coming back to time and again .
Huzzah for Rommel
Yup, it’s a great tool, most especially/specifically for newer bloggers.
Thanks for all the support.
Really do like all of your shots but “Geometry” was extra good
If I ever get to a sort of good level with my budding photography level, maybe I will join in on some of these challenges.. I’m still an iphone/instagram shooter (ha!)
There’s a good number of writing challenges out. The Daily Post has a [Something] Writing Challenge. Then there’s also a 100-Word Challenge. I think you will be successful if you participate to any of those. Point Blank.
Oh I will have to look into these.. i love me a good challenge
I’m one of your biggest fan when it comes to capturing the most amazing, most beautiful images. Just looking at the still water with the water lily sums up the magic you create post after post. Wishing you and your family all the happiness and blessings this holiday and everyday.
IT!!!! We are paging you. Did you see the comments up there!? We are talking about you? Hehe … Don’t worry …. in a good way.
Thanks for the compliment. And may you and your family have a blessed, jolly holiday ahead.
My heart smiles every time I see an email regarding a new post from you. Your photos are divine and your generosity over the top.
Fabulous post, Rommel. I would say that you have the most energetic blog on WordPress. That Water Lily is exquisite. Wishing you a most joyous and blessed Christmas season.
That is a King Kong come!
Do we get to choose our king? I think you can be King! You encourage me so much, Rommel, and you were one of my very first blogging friends, you helped me make corrections. That’s the sign of a true friend. BTW, I don’t like the wide view because I like the sidebar where I can click to see more things. This is a little more inconvenient. The pictures are more beautiful bigger. I guess we just need big screen laptops! hahaha.
I know. But if I transfer the widgets to the side, the collage won’t show all the pictures I put. It won’t work with my A-Z post. I want to stick to this theme because it’s a good theme to showcase my pictures. So far, the comments are overwhelming. These themes, they really get you. You have to sacrifice one from something else with each theme.
I’d never heard of the A-Z challenge. It’s a good way to get lots of different pictures up there. I’d love to see what pictures got sacrificed! The ones you picked were exquisite.
Hey, Prince Charming, love the BIG comb and reading all the comments here! Fun times you guys provide are so refreshing…:)
Here’s to 2013! Cheers and thanks!
Great photos. I like the unique architecture because I’m an architecture engeneer.
They are all perfect for the respective themes, but that reflection shot is outstanding Rommel! Just love it.
Actually a collective post of the month’s challenges doesn’t sound like such a bad idea. I just might borrow it
That last shot is awesome! And you, my friend, have been even more awesome in pulling and connecting the community through this blog. Wishing you a fabulous New Year filled with happiness and great travel!
I’m wondering: What’s inside the international houses?
