I was OMG! Oh My Gravy! I was expecting this. I wanted to see these sculptures for a long time. I just didn’t expect how astonishing seeing it in person.

Movie: High Fidelity – Music Elitist? What is your All-time Top Five? Er… Maybe High Fidelity might make it to my all time Top Five music-related movies. Laura, Laura, Laura, the name resonates my head watching this movie. The performance was a sweet surprise at the end of the movie. 😉 The soundtrack are thumbs up too.
Music: Tom McRae by Tom McRae – Top Five Albums of 00’s? I consider this self-titled album as one of it! Deep, dark, and beautiful. This singer-songwriter has the voice, eloquence, tune, and emotion. A true praise-worthy album. I bought my copy for 50 cents.
Here he is with Sao Paolo Rain …
I went straight to Park Center and immediately was provided the map and booklet about these metal sculptures. It’s what I drove 4 hours to the end of California for and so, up I went in a jiffy, excited to see metals :).
I first drove South. Part 2 of this will be the one for the North.
It was so awesome. I drove on the road and spotted these bigger-than-life creatures. Take a turn on dirt roads. (Don’t worry – I didn’t even use 4-wheel) Laid scattered in Anza Borrego Desert State Park are these metal sculptures. They are all over the place too. I felt like I was cruising in a safari. The desert background helps a lot too in making it dramatic. It was awe-inspiring, bedazzling, and just impressive. Magnificent!
I love BS. I love Borrego Springs. 😀 Anza Borrego is straight to my list of must-see places in California.
The man behind these magnum opuses is Ricardo Breceda. Probably the most recognized is the Sand Serpent. It’s body appears as if going in and out of the sand, stops at the road, and continues across it.
I provided a video too. It’s Dream Big California featuring Ricardo Breceda.
More of Anza Borrego and these sculpture in Part II. 😉 …. including the Sand Serpent …
