My Amazing Race in California

Is everybody ready? Alright, let’s get this race started. The world is waiting for you….

Hold it! A little detour. πŸ˜€

The Sophomore Slump Recommends

Music: Embrya by Maxwell – Nobody makes real Neo Soul music anymore. Thank goodness we have at least Maxwell’s music to go back to.

Remember this iconic MTV Unplugged performance? Here is Maxwell’s rendition of “This Woman’s Work” (not part of the album Embrya).

Movie: Blue Jasmine – Probably, arguably, the best female acting performance of the decade by far. Cate Blanchett is incredibly mesmerizing.

This is part of my once a month California post.

This is a redo of an older post, My Amazing Race (click here).

I used to watch The Amazing Race religiously before. The Β I stopped for a very very long time. I probably just returned watching it again about a year and a half ago. I started downloading seasons that I missed. I wasn’t actually aware that I’ve already been to some of The Amazing Race’s starting lines in California were.

Out of the 25 seasons of The Amazing Race, 15 of it started in California. And out of those 15, I’ve been to 9 of them. Not bad eh. πŸ™‚ Two I included are general areas which are Santa Barbara and Pasadena. All others are exact locations. The only one that I actually became aware of because of the show was Hsi Lai Temple.

On my mark, travel safe, Go!

      • I saw that fact after the fact,Rommel, but by then it was too late to take my foot out of my mouth. Either way, I still love places like that more so than some of the posher places that attract ‘normal’ people. πŸ™‚

      • It is strange as prior to my visit to Santa Monica, I was not that thrilled to be going there ~ and then when we were there I could not believe how nice the people were and what an active, creative and really beautiful place it was. πŸ™‚ Cheers!

  1. I like the idea of a once a month post – and never heard of the amazing race and yet there are 25! and that is cool that you have been at some many of the california ones…
also, have a question for you about gyros – and was wondering if you could tell me how they say it over there in greece – or how you say it…

    • Ow, it’s a TV show were they travel around the world and do challenges from extreme, adventure, to skill and talent, and just drive, run, race all over the globe. It’s a great show for travelers at heart. πŸ˜€

  2. Wow! That guy can sing! Woo! Awesome. I LOVE the Amazing Race. I think I missed a few years too, but I picked it back up again. I have to watch to see where they go. The raced ended in Dallas one year and one of the tasks was the Cowtown Maze in the Fort Worth Stockyards. We have done that and the stockyards are awesome. So, I know what you mean about visiting a place they feature. These are EXCELLENT images. I’m ready for the season to start…..my world IS waiting..heh. And I am waiting for Survivor too!!

  3. Great photos! I just went to California and took almost 80 photos. As you saw on my blog post about California songs, none of my photos are remotely as amazing (pun intended) as yours. Thanks for stopping by The Guitar Train; please hop back aboard any time. I will definitely be looking at your great blog.

Don't be shy to say hi.
