O-torii Gate at Miyajima Island

Miyajima Island is my instant favorite because of its charm.

The island can be reached by a ferry boat.

There are free-roaming deer around the island.

The island’s prominent feature is the famous O-torii gate.

I had longed to see it, and was very glad I finally did!

I thoroughly enjoyed gorging on delicious food at the town center. They have a lot of signature Japanese food.

There are hiking trails leading to shrines and temples too!

Miyajima Island is nicknamed as the Island of the Gods.

  1. Cool. When I went here, the tide was out because we didn’t think about that. I realized I wanted to see it when the tide was in too, so we came a the next day πŸ™‚ Both low tide and high tide are nice.

  2. What a lovely and enchanting island, Rommel. Thanks for taking us here, sharing the deer and what sounded like excellent food. The shrines are beautiful, and the people and boats too…and the O’Torii gate is magnificent.

Don't be shy to say hi.
